What happens if the recipient is not around when the delivery person arrives?

For On-Demand delivery:

The delivery person will call the recipient upon arrival and if the recipient isn't around, the delivery person will leave the items where the recipient has instructed them to do so.

However, if the recipient is not at the said delivery address or not answering the phone, the item may either left at the reception / guardhouse/ outside the house / or return to vendor (subjected to the type of item and if it is perishable).


Note: Redelivery / redirecting to a new address requested is subject to additional surcharge determined by vendors. Redelivery or redirecting a delivery may only happen on a different day and not the same day. Strictly no refund is possible if delivery fails to happen when the recipient is not around.

For Courier delivery:

For items shipped via courier company (eg: Poslaju, DHL, Gdex, etc), if the recipient is not at the said delivery address, the courier will leave the item with the reception and get signature of the receiver of the parcel.

If the reception/guard is not present or if there is no one to accept the item, the courier will leave a note and request the recipient to collect at the courier office stated in the note or they may reattempt a delivery on a different day.

Courier personnels will not call the recipient to ensure someone is at home before delivery - this is due to their own protocol. Couriers are also not allowed to leave the parcel in the postbox as certain residences/offices do not allow unauthorised visitors to enter premises.

If the item is left unattended in the courier office for more than 7-10 days, it will be then returned to the vendor and a reattempt of delivery will require the sender to pay a redelivery fee.

The vendors or Giftr have no control of courier company's protocols, timelines or delays :(
